
J.J. Adler is a New York based director, producer, writer, and editor and commercial director on the roster of the award winning bi-coastal production company Tool of North Amercia. In 2011 J.J. co-executive produced and directed season 1 of the 2011 TV series "The Onion News Network" on IFC. Before that Adler was co-executive producer and director of The Onion’s Peabody award winning webseries of the same name.
J.J.'s graduate thesis film, a short dark comedy, NEW MEDIA made its festival premiere at the 2010 Sundance film festival and won the Golden Star Fish Award (jury prize) for Best Short Film at the 2010 Hamptons International Film Festival. J.J.’s 2007 short documentary Unattached garnered awards including a 2008 Student Academy Award® and a talent development grant from A&E IndieFilms.
J.J. holds an M.F.A. in film directing from Columbia University.
